Study on Seismic Performance Optimization of Assembly Concrete-Filled Steel Tubular (CFST)-Laced Piers

This study aims to investigate the seismic behavior of concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST)-laced piers; after verifying model through engineering tests, simplified finite element models (S-FEM) and refined ones (R-FEM) with CFST-laced piers are developed in this manuscript, respectively. Through comparison, it is found that S-FEM can effectively improve analyzing efficiency while meeting requirements analysis accuracy. In addition, response assembled flange-connected bridge was studied based on S-FEM, different structural parameters, including pier height, axial compression ratios, ratios CFST columns, lacing tube arrangement, longitudinal slope, considered optimize design scheme. Results indicate parameters 0.1 pressure 1:30 slope show superior performance. Meanwhile, peak force bending moment column limbs occur at bottom, flanges, which subject larger moments, generally located two connection positions above bottom.
